How one can help us
You may already know that here at the National Marine Aquarium we are run by the Ocean Conservation Charity, the Ocean Conservation Trust. This means that we rely on donations and ticket sales to keep our aquarium running, feed our animals and keep them happy and continue with the important conservation projects we carry out, including habitat restoration projects.
Our aquarium is the largest in the UK and can cost up to £ 10,000 a day. During a normal summer, our charity is able to cover these costs by selling tickets. However, with our income going down for the foreseeable future due to the limited number of visitors or visitors we can safely allow into the building at any time (due to compliance with social distancing rules) we have a little less money than usual.
Aquariums are not just tourist attractions. We also play an important role in marine conservation, education and research. If you would like to support us in continuing all of this, any donation or small gesture of support that you can show would be greatly appreciated.
Fortunately, there are many different ways you can support us. Read on to find out how.
